Firenze, 3.5.2021

Dear Friends.

I’m so pleased to let you know that we have finally completed the restoration of the massive altarpiece by Baratta (ca. 1697) at the Basilica di Santo Spirito. You can see a brief clip of the works done in the youtube link.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RCSe7wptwBE
We will celebrate at midday on Saturday 8 May, 2021 also with friends from the Mascarade Opera studio also performing as Chiara, Ana, and Irene discuss the restoration.

Don’t hesitate to contact me for more information, to learn more from my colleagues about art restoration, or how to get involved in our future initiatives. The works are a wonderful expression of how determined the Foundation is to continue to support talent and to ensure a lasting legacy to inspire our future. No less prescient as we slowly begin to emerge from the challenges of the pandemic, to allow us to see and be inspired the beauty all around us.   I want to send a heartfelt thank you to the teams on the ground continuing to learn about centuries old techniques and restoring our shared cultural heritage.

All the best, Luke Olbrich. Founder  of the Mircea Maria Gerard Foundation.
